This field day teaches participants how to safely remove and process honey from the hive using methods such as liquid honey extraction, comb honey, cut comb honey, and creamed honey production. Whether using an extractor or alternative methods, participants will gain practical harvesting skills. ERC’s Sustainable Apiary Model (SAM) will also cover bee wellness practices, including the importance of leaving enough honey for winter bee survival.
