This final field day focuses on fall hive preparation and winter survival strategies. Participants will learn about fall disease treatments, conventional feeding practices, and how to protect hives from cold, wind, snow, and condensation. ERC’s Sustainable Apiary Model (SAM) will also introduce sugar water-free feeding methods, winter hive consolidation, and effective fall Varroa mite management to help bees survive and thrive through winter.
